FAQ

Straight answers for leaders who answer for many companies.

What Hydri is, what it touches, what it never does, and how long it takes to start.

What is Hydri?

Hydri is an AI Digital Brain for parent companies that own many businesses. It reads the systems those companies already run, watches the KPIs leadership cares about, and shows what needs a human decision across the whole portfolio, including risks and opportunities that are hard to see one company at a time.

Who is Hydri for?

Holding companies and their portfolio companies, serial acquirers, parent companies with subsidiaries, and franchise groups with company-owned locations. The people who use it are the group CEO, CFO, COO, CRO, head of portfolio operations and CTO: the leaders who answer for the whole group.

Who it's for

How is Hydri different from a portfolio dashboard?

A dashboard shows numbers someone has already assembled. Hydri reads each company's own systems, compares every company against its own norm and your KPIs, and explains what moved and why it matters. It also sees what companies share: customers, vendors, people and cash, such as a vendor several companies depend on or work being paid for twice.

Do our companies have to replace their software?

No. Hydri connects read-only to the finance, customer, people, vendor and operational systems each company already runs, for the companies you nominate. It never asks a company to replace a stack that already works.

How it works

What is the portfolio heartbeat?

The heartbeat is the first diagnostic: a read of every company you own against the KPIs your leadership chooses to watch. When a company goes quiet, a KPI moves against plan, or a risk appears across the group, Hydri brings it forward with the evidence behind it.

Does Hydri work in real time?

When you ask Briony a question, she answers from each company's data as it stands at that moment, not from last month's pack. Hydri also keeps watching the KPIs you configure and surfaces what moved against you in time to act.

Can Hydri take action inside a portfolio company?

No. Access to each company is read-only, granted by you and yours to revoke. Briony analyses a finding, explains her reasoning and drafts a recommended next step, and your leadership decides. There is no silent action against any company, and nothing leaves Hydri without a person sending it.

Who is Briony?

Briony is who you talk to inside Hydri. You ask about the portfolio in plain English, and she tells you what needs a human decision, what changed and where each finding came from. Hydri is the platform; Briony is who you speak with.

Is our data kept separate from other customers?

Yes. Each customer's companies, people and numbers are kept separate from every other customer's, and no other customer shares a brain with yours.

Security and trust

How long does it take to get started?

Weeks, not years. A baseline of your portfolio inside the first two weeks, which is yours to keep even if you stop there; the first heartbeat briefs by week four; and a milestone named to EBITDA or portfolio value by week eight. The exact scope is agreed with you first.

The eight weeks

What happens in a live interaction?

Thirty minutes with the Hydri and Briony team. Tell us about your companies and the questions leadership needs answered, and we show the platform working, shaped around the kind of group you run. No system access is needed to book.
